项目标书摘要:Research Summary:This research investigates the evolution of triple helix(TH)of innovation research within the regional innovation system(RIS)in Berlin,Germany.Furthermore,it analyzes the RIS of Berlin and develops a case of a global venture company interacting with the RIS of Berlin.First, the study illustrates Germany’s Industry 4.0 policy which has been the trigger of the fourth industrial revolution, and explains the German government’s digital RIS policy direction.Second,it conducts systematic literature reviews on a wide range of RIS and TH studies which indicates that the previous TH model evolves toward different n-helix models such as quadruple and quintuple helix, thereby explaining regional sustainability and specialization. The findings on the RIS of Berlin indicate that there exists a virtuous circle within the RIS where innovation creating actors(i.e.government,university/research institute, and industry/firm)formulate various networks to create knowledge for innovations within the region. The case study of a virtual reality(VR)venture company based in Berlin provides characteristics of the VR industry, the initial business model and its challenges interacting with the RIS of Berlin. The case offers useful implications for prospective entrepreneurs in the IT sector, international business managers, and policy makers in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
