Assuming the vibration excitation level of the conjugated polymer (CP) chains is higher than the level given by the chain temperature, unexplained data of recent Raman spectroscopy (RS) measurements are interpreted. It is shown that under rather high optical pumping the vibration excitations of the CP chain, composed of bytum C-C and C=C bonds, pass into collective states - the vibration "condensate" and trapped "quantum gas". Due to spontaneous breaking the symmetry, these collective excitations are localized on the only type of the bonds. Scattering on the vibration condensate and on the trapped quantum gas explains the physical reason of a very complex structure of RS anti-Stokes line as well as of "abnormal" relationship between intensities of RS Stokes and anti-Stokes spectral components. © 2003 Elsevier B.V.
