项目标书摘要:Research Summary:In this thesis, the conclusion has been drawn as the following, resulting from contrasting the aspects of idioms and adjectives in terms of the language of「taste/flavor」and immanent mentality in between Korean and Japanese.Korean and Japanese languages share several features.First, there is little difference in the number of the idioms in both languages.Second, while a positive mental state has been developed in both languages in terms of taste/flavor(71%in Korean,78%in Japanese),negative psychologically expressed adjectives have been developed in terms of taste(74%in Korean,79%in Japanese). There are differences between the languages.First, even though‘appetite’and‘taste’are synonyms in Korean idiomatic expressions in terms of flavor, the usage of the words is different, and they can not replace each other among the strongly negative psychological expressions.Second, there are more expressions in Korean that the basic meanings of the adjectives of taste are left in the idiom expressions. However, ironic usage has been developed in Japanese instead of keeping the basic meanings of the adjectives.Third, sweet and bitter are used as antonyms in Korean expressions, but sweet and hot/spicy are commonly used as antonyms in Japanese.Fourth, while the mentality of contempt or criticism toward other parties has been developed in Korean, instructive expressions have been developed even in negative psychological expressions in Japanese.
