Application Abstract: A preliminary platform of comprehensive modeling of land surface processes was established based on CoLM.The numerical weather prediction system of China Meteorological Administration-GRAPES was ported to Tianhe II supercomputer in Guangzhou,and parts of newly developed CoLM modules were coupled to GRAPES.The implementation of CoLM-lake to BCC-CSM alleviated the biases of summer precipitation simulation in east Asia by BCC-CSM:more precipitation in north China but less precipitation in the Yangtze River Valley and the Korean Peninsula than the observation.CAS-ESM which includes CoLM can simulate the probability density distribution of daily maximum air temperature fairly well and therefore well simulate the number of extreme hot days in summer and interannual variability of summertime surface temperature in central Asia.Considering the impact of soil organic matter in BCC_AVIM2.0 decreases soil thermal conductivity but increase soil hydraulic conductivity.The influences of assimilating LAI in land surface modeling on surface variables and land-atmosphere fluxes was investigated through a data assimilation research testbed(DART).A series of experiments were conducted to participate the sixth phase of coupled model intercomparison project(CMIP6).
