Application Abstract: The selected seaweed and benthic diatoms are used as the feed for adult and juvenile small abalone Haliotis diversicolor.The abalone populations from Keelung,Tatung,Tainan,Penghu and hybrid Taizu are reared and the good quality of brood stock are selected for offspring produced.The larval survival and juvenile growth rate from inbreeding and crossing among different populations were used for genetic selection.Family selection will be performed for genetic improvement by increase the heterosis degree.Additionally,the optimal condition for the growth and reproduction of those family will be established and as the reference for conservation and utilization for aquaculture.
