项目标书摘要:Research Summary:The focal point of the study is the pressing theological question of a Christian response to religious pluralism in the Korean Christianity.Contemporary hermeneutics has evolved as existential approach to a text which the interpreter enters into a holistic dialogue.Confucianism has something genuinely interesting and helpful to bring to contemporary theological discussions. These dialogues are not defined by professional theologians alone, but also by Korean christinty's needs for theological guidance. The study will present a formal hypothesis about the portable roots of Confucianism, theoretical implications for the notion of cross-cultural transition, and the programmatic point between Korean Christianity and Confucianism. The study will explore that several practical applications of Confucian principles to the Korean Christianty situation will be laid out as projects for further development. It is necessary to present selected historical meterial about the Confucian tradition in order to display the importantce of the new bilateral interfaith dialogue. The hypothesis is that the primary scriptures are the Doctrine of the Mean and the Gospels. The Doctrine of the Mean is a primary scripture of Confucianism because it provides the classical expression of the Confucian model of the self as a polar structure stretching between the inner heart of cetered readiness to respond to all things according to their value and the ten thousand things of the world. The Doctrine of the Mean is reflected in the trinity of heaven, earth, and the human. The Doctrine of the Mean cites the development of the nature of the self, other people, and things as the content of the human contribution. The study will elaborate two essential principles, humanity(인)and properity(리).The concept of humanity(인)has seemed close to a range of Western theological notions, from Christian love to philosophical authenticity. If the gospel is to be preached with integrity in the religious pluralism, what does this mean for Christian gospel,Christology, and Christian ethics? Thus, the study is informed by the thought of gospel's authors.Christianity and Confucianism have have regarded divine transcendce and immanence in distinctive fashions. There was a general consensus that both traditions have doctrines of divine transcendence and immanence.Christianith and modern Confucianism are moving to a new understanding of transcendence and immanence closer in style and substance. The study will answer the question of convergence of the two traditions and then seek historical background. The study is exploring new ground, topics never before taken in tandem.
