Application Abstract: Sea turtle is a oceanic migratory species, spends more than 95%time at sea. Therefore, the hydrodynamic environmental characters can influence the behavior of sea turtle at sea.Recent studies showed that, the physical characters in the ocean, such as current, front, wind, geomagnetic field, bathymetric features, distribution of sea surface temperature, path integration, are the important environmental factors that influence or determine the migration behavior of sea turtles. Many qualitative and quantitative studies suggested that among various factors current is the most influential factor. Thus,to understand how animal use current to reach its final destination is crucial to the survivorship of the population. The combine of migration track with diving behavior enable us to understand the sea turtle behavior in the open ocean in detail with 3-D instead of 2-D concept. This will provide indelible contribution to the studies of the behavior of marine animals and development of conservation strategies.Although our studies have found part of the evidences and found some evidences how animal utilize the current to reach its foraging site and diving behavior. However,we still not fully understand the relationship between migratory behavior of sea turtles and the ocean current in different hydrodynamic regimes. The knowledge on the migration and diving behavior of the post-nesting green turtles and rehabilitated as well as by-catch release sea turtles are also limited. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the data obtained from the satellite telemetries along with the hydrodynamic models obtained from the physical oceanography to determine quantitatively to what extent the migration does influenced by the currents as well as their own will when migrate through different stage of activities, such as change from inter-nesting to post-nesting to residential stages,or migrate from one hydrodynamic regime to the other. This is very important to the physiological energy expenditure of sea turtles and the change of behavior in response to the change of marine environment.Because sea turtle spends more than 95%of their life on the sea, this research will enable us to understand their survival strategies and conduct effective conservative measures.
