项目标书摘要:随着网际网路新服务的引入与新多媒体服务应用,使用者对於网路的需求已不是下层传输网路可以满足,使用者希望能更快速得到所需要的传输资源。然而,要支援这类次世代的服务,网路服务提供者,除了要有完善 QoS 支援的传输网路,也要有 Computation 及 Storage 能力支援。(如Video Cache,Data Cache,Video Proxy/Agents 等),而网路本身也要能对抗敌意的入侵与内部的故障。因此本群体计划目标能在於设计规划一个能满足次世代服务完善的网路传输环境与控管架构。主要研究的对像是 MPLS/QoS/Security 网路架构及其相关技术的开发。本群体计划除了以MPLS 为基础的 Transport Network,更提出Content Delivery Network 的概念,CDN 整合网路的网路传输与运算(包括Storage 及Security)资源,同时CDN 也对Intrusion 等Security Event 进行处理。配合本计划CDN 同时引进Content Aware Classification、Intrusion Defense 与网路运算资源的侦测等先进功能。此群体计划共规划一个总计划及五个子计划。在总计划中我们将建置一个以网路处理器为基础,具有品质控制与管理能力的多重标签网路,做为各子计划整合及系统开发的基础。子计划一针对服务品质的管控,MPLS 网路Traffic Engineering、Fast Reroute、VPN 及Mobile IP Support 的实作及相关研究作一探讨;子计划二针对MPLS 网路提出内容感知(Content-Aware)及安全考量的解决方案,并在实验平台上做分析与研究;子计画三分析研究以MPLS 网路为主架构之基础网路及考量Content Delivery 与Security 需求的Content Delivery Network 的监测管制策略以及网路传输与运算资源分配管理,以提昇网路服务的品质。子计划四、五在支援 Content-Aware 与 QoS 之 Secured Diffserv/MPLS 网路上,透过查询子计划三所管控的网路资源,利用子计划一、二所提供具服务品质保证能力的网路,研究互动式多媒体存取与以及网路上有效率的作分散式网页资料的整备、交换与呈现。我们也将利用子计划四、五来展示前三项子计划的成效。

Application Abstract: With the introduction of new types of Internet services and multimedia applications,demands from users have increased rapidly.Existing networks cannot meet the users’requirements any longer;current users need to get more network resource and faster.However,it is a great challenge for network services providers to support such demands for next generation services.Service providers resort to solutions to address this issue.In addition to constructing a transport network with comprehensive QoS support,it is necessary to provide the computation and storage capacity as well,such as deploying devices like Video Cache,Data Cache,Video Proxy/Agents etc.For network backbone itself,it shall be able to against unfriendly intruding and attacks and tolerate faults from inner systems.Therefore,the goal for this group project is to design and deploy a communication network system with a comprehensive control and management architecture which can meet the service requirements for the next generation services.The principal object to study is the MPLS/QoS/Security network structures and the associated technology developments.In addition to constructing a transport network based on MPLS,the salient features for this group project is to develop a concept of Content Delivery Network(CND).CDN can integrate the transporting and computing resources(including storage and security).CDN also deals with security events such as intrusion.In this group project,CDN also introduces many advanced functions such as Content Aware Classification,Intrusion Defense and Computing Resources Detection.There are one main project and five sub-projects under this group project.In the main project,we will construct an MPLS core network with QoS support and quality management capability based on network processors.This MPLS core network will serve as basis for the system development and integration among sub-projects.Sub-project 1 focuses on issues of the QoS control/management,traffic engineering,fast reroute,VPN and Mobile IP support for MPLS networks.This sub-project 1 conducts both research surveys and implementation to the aforementioned issues.Sub-project 2 investigates practical solutions to the issues of content-aware and network security for MPLS networks.It also conducts several analysis and researches base on our test-bed.Sub-project 3 studies the monitoring and control strategies of the CDN under certain content delivery and security requirements.Sub-project 3 also investigates how to allocate the network transporting and computing resources to enhance the quality of network services.Sub-project 4 will develop a Content-Aware and QoS support secured Diffserv/MPLS network for interactive multimedia access technologies over MPLS network.Sub-project 5 discusses issues of how to prepare,exchange and express distributed web-contents,efficiently.These goals are achieved by looking up the current network resources information provided by the management and control function done in sub-project 3 and network services of QoS support offered from sub-project 1 and 2.The efforts and results of sub-project 1-3 can also be demonstrated by the methods and scenarios of sub-project 4 and 5.
